Venus - Uranus Aspects

Interpretations of planetary aspects relevant to Natal Charts.

Venus conjunct Uranus
People with a Venus-Uranus conjunction in their natal charts are usually very magnetic, intriguing, and dynamic individuals. They value friendship in love and sincerity of feelings is the most important quality for them. These are people who will turn their nose at marriage, saying that it’s how people feel about each other that counts more than a marriage certificate. Although friendly and usually quite willing to make friends with people from all walks of life, there is an impersonal and noncommittal manner to them that is unmistakable. They despise social pretenses. Despite the fact that they firmly believe that popularity is much less important than sincerity, they are often rather popular people. They love to be different, and in many ways they are open-minded when it comes to love and romance. Still, they can be quite argumentative and sometimes uncooperative–even downright inflexible–when it comes to their own “inner code” and honouring it. They are not as adaptable to others’ expectations of them as their freedom-loving beliefs might imply. In other words, although they easily accept many different people into their lives, they cling tightly to their own ways of living. Some fear compromise, seeing it as a loss of self or a loss of individuality. Their taste and “style” is different and original. This can extend to choice of dress as well as taste in art, furniture, movies, and so forth. Sometimes Uranus is projected, and the partners that these people are attracted to display the Uranian traits of independence, originality, unreliability, inconsistency, and freedom-loving. Ex-lovers of Venus-Uranus natives may complain that these people didn’t truly value the relationship. In love and with regards to the erotic, the most appealing things can be what hasn’t been done or what “shouldn’t” be done. Mixing things up and experimentation are important to Venus-Uranus people.

Alternate, short interpretations: *You are excitable, spontaneous, and easily aroused emotionally and sexually. You fall in love very quickly and have little self-restraint or concern for propriety when your feelings have been stirred. However, it may be difficult for you to sustain a relationship after the first rush of excitement wanes, especially if your partner is basically a conservative person who does not like to change or experiment. Nontraditional relationships appeal to you, and personal freedom is highly important to you.

#Once you find the spiritual teaching that suits you, you are totally and forever hooked into it. Until that happens, you may start and end many times. When you are on the right path, beginnings and endings around you become cyclical milestones in the development of your personal belief system. From Your Spiritual Path report.

Some Famous People with Venus conjunct Uranus: Christina Aguilera (Venus in early Sagittarius, Uranus in late Scorpio), Tori Amos, Warren Beatty (Venus conjunct Uranus in Taurus), Anita Bryant (Venus conjunct Uranus in Taurus), Elizabeth Taylor (Venus conjunct Uranus in Aries), Warren Beatty, Harry Belafonte, Betty Ford, Heather Locklear (Venus in early Virgo conjunct Uranus in late Leo), Steve McQueen, Bill Moyers, Sidney Poitier (Venus conjunct Uranus in Pisces), Johnny Cash (Venus conjunct Uranus in Aries), Kathy Bates, Erma Bombeck, Donovan (Venus conjunct Uranus in Gemini), Katie Holmes (Venus conjunct Uranus in Scorpio – and sextile Saturn), Jim Jones (Venus conjunct Uranus in Aries), Cat Stevens.

Venus square or opposition Uranus
The need for stimulation and the need to break the rules with regards to love and romance is apparent when Venus squares or opposes Uranus in the natal chart. These people can confuse their partners readily with their on-again off-again energy when it comes to matters of the heart. With the opposition, this is especially pronounced–when they are given too much space, they feel unloved, yet when they get the love they seem to crave, they can feel smothered by it. They can alienate partners by adopting an “I don’t care what you do” stance when they feel threatened. The truth is, they do fear rejection like anyone else, but they don’t always want to admit it, and they can turn quite cold when they suspect their partner doesn’t care. The energy of Venus-Uranus in hard aspect is embodied in the expression, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder”. When close to a loved one, they can eventually feel smothered or antsy if the relationship becomes too predictable. They can also detach themselves from living in the moment and enjoying the love they have. When apart, they feel more free to love. This aspect is common in the charts of people who maintain long-distance or otherwise erratic relationships. There can be abrupt beginnings and endings in relationships. They are not very “good” at endings–they can appear quite insensitive, aloof, and brusque. The “let’s be friends” attitude might hurt a partner who felt there was much more to the relationship. These people have a disdain for conventional, traditional, or otherwise “normal” relationships. They need to learn to balance their need for closeness and their need for freedom. They truly detest social pretenses, and insist on being sincere. Being well-liked takes second place to sincerity. There is a strong attraction to all that is different, and all that “shouldn’t” be done in love and in sex. Taste in clothing and art is unusual, original, and unique.

There is a tendency to react spontaneously and intensely to others, and there is marked emotional impulsiveness with these aspects. Their most successful relationships are unconventional ones. Whether they do so publicly or privately, they delight in defying convention. They tend to move on and outgrow friendships. Some possess considerable romantic charm and humor, and they can pretty much charm the birds out of the trees when they choose to do so! Their love feelings are easily aroused and their romantic relationships begin with suddenness. There is a marked inner craving for emotional excitement and a need to feel spontaneous and free.

Alternate interpretations:
Venus square Uranus or Venus opposition Uranus: *Your love feelings are easily aroused and your romantic relationships begin with a sudden electric attraction, but they often end abruptly, and you may be in and out of love frequently – especially in your younger years. You crave emotional excitement and need to feel spontaneous and free, so you may avoid making firm personal commitments. Unusual or nontraditional forms of love and relationships appeal to you, and you are attracted to unique, creative, or unstable people.

#You tend to fall in love instantly, and you need to discriminate between passing sexual fancy and something that can last “forever.” As your intuition develops, you will be able to identify the difference more clearly. When you “fall,” that is a good time to marshal all your respect for yourself and your partner, and to take things one day at a time until you have forged a deep connection. From Your Spiritual Path report.

Venus sextile or trine Uranus
The ability to get along with–and accept–people from all walks of life as friends is strong with this position. These people can readily see through insincerity in others. In relationships, tolerance is the most important “ingredient” to these people. Their sexual preferences are somewhat unconventional, and they won’t be happy with a partner who tries to limit their sexual expression. They are usually quite capable of maintaining relationships that require a great deal of freedom and tolerance, such as long-distance romances or set-ups in which partners are unable to see each other consistently. Their style in love is somewhat free and breezy, and noncommittal. They quite naturally accept the idea that their partner might need some personal space and freedom.

The trine aspect is the more dynamic of the two harmonious aspects. Those with the sextile can call upon these traits when needed, and those with the trine between the Venus and Uranus have incorporated the traits of the aspect into their personalities, expressing them naturally and consistently.

Alternate interpretations:
Venus sextile Uranus or Venus trine Uranus: *You are open and progressive in your attitudes towards love and romance, and spontaneous and free in your love-expression. You are always willing to experiment and try anything new that your partner suggests, and you enjoy being surprised. A relationship in which both you and your partner have a good deal of freedom and independence will hold your interest much more than a safe, predictable one.

#On the physical level you feel the sexual spark in relationships immediately. On the spiritual level you are able to discern facts about their future through the same spark. From Your Spiritual Path report.
