Sagittarius is always optimistic, to mention the least. They are risk-takers, cheerful, friendly, but also restless.
It doesn't mean that they do not have a dark side. But the Sagittarius believes in moving on. People view them as philosophers because they live in their make-believe world of their own philosophical ideas - mostly, to escape reality. Their restlessness leave them will little commitment, stability or loyalty - and they hardly keep a promise, or schedule. The "easygoing" Sagittarius doesn't take things too personally. They would rather ignore an event and move-on towards a better future, than sulk in hard feelings of the past. With an uncanny ability to truly see both sides of an argument, the Sagittarius is undoubtedly the most forgiving sign of the Zodiac.

Angering Sagittarius is not as difficult as perceived. Try calling them a liar, or a fake! If you don't want yourself involved, point out injustices and pain around the world (including animal cruelty) to watch them go on an emotional rampage.
They are independent and love their freedom. They are ready to fight for their freedom, if they are restricted, or told what to do and what not to do. This would work wonders. Also, assigning them to boring projects and mundane tasks - is a surefire way to irritate the hell out of them.
Sagittarius' dynamic revenge
The optimistic, patient, happy-go-lucky Sagittarius would generally take insults, hurts or wrongdoings in their stride. They do not take things too seriously, or personally - and tend to see the good sides of people or things. They do get angry, but will mostly conceal it with optimism.
However, if they are hurt further to a point of uncontrollable anger, they really don't know how to react. Their vengeance is mostly verbal - instant and dynamic. They prefer honesty above anything else, and their verbal expression of anger is brutally honest - will instantly take your breath away - and can be very blunt that really hurts sensitive souls and proud folks. Their adversary can expect no mercy, and no mincing of words! Thankfully, it ends almost as instantly as it began - after which the Sagittarius will start behaving like a victim, oblivious of the damage their verbal expression may have inflicted.
The good thing about an angry Sagittarius is that their verbal outburst is final - there is no sequel, no lingering pain. They do not carry hard feelings of the past, and simply move on.
On the other hand, this sign is ever-forgiving, if they are made to see the other side of the story - which mostly, they will do themselves. If you have unwittingly hurt a Sagittarius, prepare your case for a debate. Offer an apology with an outline of reasons that you should be forgiven for. Attaching a sentimental gift will do just fine. Follow your apology with more appeals, or even better - a suggestion that the two of you should go out on an adventure trip to bury the past. That should work like a charm.

In general, any attempt to challenge their basic Sagittarian traits, will anger or irritate them. For example: pushing them around, messing up the second chance they gave you, exploiting them, invading their privacy, being a hypocrite, etc. |

Best way to get them back in mood
For Sagittarius, it is rare to have a bad mood that lasts - and this rare phenomenon deserves a special treatment. Give them a sense of freedom of movement and of alternate performance. Take the Sagittarius out, in the open air - that should do the trick, most of the time. If that doesn't, take them to a park, invite them to running, biking, or even racing. An activity that requires movement (in open air) will instantly make their day.
